She doesn't withhold the reason she feels bad to make him feel worse, she just naturally wants him to know what he did wrong so that she can feel better. It's better when he figures it out himself and makes her feel better than when she has to tell him because it feels like he cares and understands her.
In essence, his apparent understanding about why he made her feel bad makes her feel closer to him in the relationship, so it's important to understand why she gets upset in order for your relationship to be healthy.
Here are some ways to make her feel really bad.
Tell Her to Get Over It
Never try to make a woman feel better by telling her to get over her problems or stop being upset about them. You may tell your buddies to 'man up' when they are upset but it doesn't work the same way for women.
If she is having a bad day and complaining about the people in it she wants you to listen. All she is doing is venting to you because she needs to vent. It's how women get things off their chest. If you tell her to 'just get over it', or any other words in that tone, then she is going to feel like you don't care about what she is saying and that you possibly side with the things or people who are making her feel bad.
Always support her when she talks with supporting words like - I understand, I see what you mean, or I can't believe it either! These are going to make her feel better about herself and you. You will feel like her supporter instead of her sounding board and she will appreciate it.
Forget Everything She's Ever Told You
Women do talk to vent, but they also talk to share information that they feel is important to them. If they feel it's important to them then they want you to really listen and understand what they are saying, even if it's about their favourite purple pair of socks that they just bought.
When you only half-listen to what she is saying, and she asks you about it later and you have no idea what she's talking about, you make her feel as though you didn't care enough to listen to what was important to her. On the other hand, when you are able to remember what she talked about she will feel as though you really care about what makes her happy in life and she will feel closer to you for it.
Put Her Second
When she needs to talk to you or wants to hang out with you she may do it in a subtle way. She wants to give you the choice to listen to her or hang out with her, not force you into it. So when you choose a video game, TV show, or anything else over her she feels bad. She feels as though you would rather do those things then spend time with her and that makes her feel disconnected from the you and the relationship.
If you notice that she's trying to get in your space and you are trying to concentrate on something else then let her know you love her but you just want to finish what you are doing and you will spend some time with her later. Telling her this is far better than just ignoring her or continuing on what you are doing. She will feel much better.
Make Her Feel Unattractive
This is a hard one for men to understand and rightfully so! Women take certain comments very personal whereas men do not. But rest assured if you make her feel ugly or unattractive she will be bitter and upset about it for a long time to come.
There are many ways you can do this:
- Answering 'yes' when asks if she looks fat.
- Not responding to her in a good way when she changes something like her hair or clothes.
- Giving her a funny look when she asks about her appearance.
- Looking at another woman in a way you never look at her.
- Compliment another woman when you barely ever give her compliments.
And one thing to remember is that the less you tell her she is attractive or make her feel attractive, the more she will not trust you when you actually do tell her or try to make her feel like it. So just do it!
